Every Word document is based on a template. In 2003 it is Normal.dot and in Office 2007 it is Normal.dotm. When I get a new version of Word, I like to make some changes especially to the font. So how do you change the Normal template? Here’s how:
Using Word 2003: 1. Go to File | Open…. By default, templates are stored in C:\Documents & Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates.
2. Select normal.dot and click Open.
3. To change the font, Format | Font….
4. Select the Font, Font Style and Size desired. Click OK.
Using Word 2007: 1. Click the Microsoft Office Button and click Open.
2. Select Templates.
3. Choose Normal.dotm. Change the Font and Font Size using the Ribbon. Save the template.
Shortcuts Key: Use CTRL+N to start a new document using the Normal template. |
